This luxury property was perfect for a quiet holiday. We had stocked up with provisions in Bruny Island, Hobart and Sorell before arriving so we virtually stayed put for our 3 nights. Firstly, the environment: the view across the bay is breathtaking and simply sufficient entertainment in itself; the pathway down to the beach is like a little nature reserve with blue wrens, possums, wallabies and lovely trees; the beach is pristine. Fishing gear was in good order (remember to bring your own bait), and the wetsuits are a thoughtful touch if you wish to linger in the sea. Secondly, the house: beautifully designed to immerse you in the environment and capture the spectacular views, everything was in perfect condition and is very comfortable, the kitchen is well equipped. The house has a modern artistic aesthetic and is really a lovely place to be, it's surprisingly warm and welcoming given the industrial type architecture. Those in our group who like to sleep in did find it a bit of a rude awakening when the rising sunshine came through the quite sheer blinds! I was happy to rise early and take advantage of morning coffee on the deck. Essentially, the property meets your expectations of a luxury retreat and you won't be disappointed. We had a wonderful few days there and totally relaxed and love it. Ann and Peta are very efficient and helpful.

I stayed at Avalon the night before my wedding with my bridesmaids and got ready there. We then used it as the ceremony location for my intimate destination wedding. I was drawn to Avalon as it suited a small wedding (or a large one), was such a picturesque location and the wet weather option was also fantastic. For us this wasn't needed as it was a beautiful spring day. We had the ceremony in front of the majestic tree. From first contact staff were so helpful and prompt with replies. I highly recommend Avalon for a wedding. I had the ceremony and toast there and dinner at Piermont restaurant. Lots of people use it for the whole event though with caterers etc. For me the two spots worked so well as there was minimal setting up, the food at Piermont is exquisite and guests didn't need to drive at the end of the night!

In all the world it would be harder to find a more beautiful home in a more beautiful location. Every comfort is considered. The architecture is superb and even more so considering the house was created some years ago. It feels utterly fresh and yet somehow stately. While the world beyond Tasmania is more precarious, the wonder of Avalon with its secluded beach, pristine green waters, enormous views and deep calm is particularly precious. Three bathrooms and three bedrooms gives everyone room to spread out and rest. The kitchen is so easy. The house is generously provisioned with thought and care. It’s also sparklingly clean - reassuringly so in these times. We ate, dreamed, danced, star gazed, swam and created memories and somehow four days went by. Bliss. Thank you Avalon team for another brilliant stay and the mind behind it all, creator Brett Torossi, for such a magnificent vision of home and retreat that keeps giving year after year.

From the moment we arrived we knew it was going to be a wonderful stay. Amazing views out over the ocean, sounds of the waves crashing on the beach, everything we could think of to hand in the beautiful kitchen, and a fire to keep the winter at bay. It felt like home with all the wonderful touches and the scenery and amazing Tassie light coming from every angle. Avalon is all that you think it will be. We didn't want to leave- and we will be back!

We had 2 memorable days at Avalon Retreat. What luxury!! We watched the sun gone up in the morning and the moon and stars appear at night. It is such a tranquil place.

Functions Information

$1,050 per night Monday – Thursday
$1,250 per night Friday, Saturday and Sunday

These tariffs are for the entire property, accommodating up to six guests in three luxurious bedrooms in queen sized beds.

Please note: We have 3 night minimum restrictions on long weekends and a 5 night minimum at Easter and a 4 night minimum at Christmas each year.
